Fri and some Saturdays. ** Dutchies Waterfront Motel is one of the first self contained motels to be opened in New South Wales. From the balcony you have undeniably the most fantastic water views available and is the only motel in Nelson Bay to have beachfront access from its property. The upper level units have reverse cycle heating/air conditioning and the lower level units are equipped with heaters and fans to allow you to control your unit subject to the conditions around you. As you would expect, linen and towels are provided and you can request for an unserviced room if you prefer to sleep-in. Also tea and coffee making facilities are available along with a microwave for instant heating of food. Most units have either a full stove or oven warmer but you might take advantage of the closeness that you are to Nelson Bay Central Business District where many different types of restaurants are available. You can walk along the foreshore from the motel to be in the Nelson Bay Shopping centre within about 10-15 minutes depending on how fast you walk.

Please phone as you turn off the Pacific Highway about 30 minutes from Nelson Bay to enable a staff member to greet you at the unit on arrival.

Rooms are equipped with a PABX telephone for business clients. Access to broadband is subject to availability for the upper level rooms only. This needs to be organised before arrival however dial-up is available through the PABX.

The are many choices of water activities - waterskiing, sailing, cruising, fishing, snorkelling, surfing, patrolled beaches, swimming, diving, boat hire, kayaking, fishing, fishing charters, golf, lawn bowls, dolphin & whale watching, arts/crafts, sand dunes safaris on quad bikes, ferry trips to Tea Gardens (a fantastic experience), cafes, restaurants, hotels, camel riding, Hunter Valley vineyard tours. Also, a visit to Port Stephens is not complete without experiencing the incredible 30 km stretch of sand dunes and beach of Stockton Beach via Anna Bay. Enjoy by 4wd, horse, camel, by foot, or even a quad bike. There are also 4 golf courses for the enthusiast, bushwalks & numerous dog friendly beaches and parks.

Getting There:

Travel north from Sydney along the F3 freeway heading towards the north coast. Turn off the Pacific Highway at Raymond Terrace onto Richardson Road and follow the signs to Nelson Bay and then follow the signs to Dutchies Motor Lodge at Dutchmans Bay.
